ABOUT
THE ORGANISERS

The event will unite new and existing hosts in an inspirational, energetic and exciting setting and will give you the personal and undivided attention of Kerry Roy and Sarah Riley. These are two individuals who have collectively been involved in hospitality and the glamping sector for over 35 years.

Kerry Roy

Kerry is a retreat, wellness and festival organiser and the visionary behind Camp Katur in Yorkshire and Cerchio Del Desiderio in Italy. Both business models use a variety of glamping structures on her own property and by working in partnership with landowners.

Kerry’s award-winning site at The Camphill Estate offers weddings, wellness, corporate and team-building events. She was also the first to introduce Geodome Glamping into Italy as a solo female entrepreneur with zero language skills!

As a trained Yogi organising various Wellness retreats at Cerchio Del Desiderio Glamping Retreat, she draws on her experiences of organising an annual VW camper-van festival for 5000 guests.

Now with several TV appearances under her belt - including Channel 4's A New Life In The Sun - and as an influential speaker, Kerry enjoys promoting and supporting the glamping industry whenever she can.

 

Sarah Riley

Sarah has been immersed in the world of glamping and unique holiday rentals for over 20 years by helping thousands of students design their dream eco-accommodation business and the lifestyle they want. Think treehouses, bubble tents, domes, yurts, safari tents and tipis and you’ll get the idea.

Now, as the CEO of The Glamping Academy, she uses her experience to help others launch ideas quickly, start earning immediately and get ahead of the competition, without sacrificing life goals or the environment.

She has been featured by The Sunday Telegraph, The Daily Mail, Eventbrite and Metro, and is the host of her own podcast ‘The Business of Glamping And Unique Holiday Rentals’ and 'The Glamping Show Americas'. She also leads one of the largest business communities in the industry and is invited to travel the world to talk on these topics.

RETREAT LOCATION

 

Set between the Adriatic Sea and the Appennine mountains amongst rolling hills of olive groves in what’s known as Abruzzo's finest olive oil production lands close to Pianella and Loreto Aprutino.

Cerchi Del Desiderio (Circle Of Desire) is located amongst 10 acres of land with 350 olive trees, stables for horses, yoga and meditation decks, a botanical breakfast room, a splash pool, magnificent panoramic views of Gran Sasso Mountains to one side, and rolling green hills, medieval hilltop towns to the other side.

At night you can sit back relax and dream of your own business development with epic views and the silhouette of mountains, the glistening twinkles of distant lights and dark skies stargazing.

This has been designed around fun, great food, self-care and relaxation… all mixed in with great company, and business support and set against the backdrop of a superb glamping business in the Pianella region of Italy.

Seven days before you attend the retreat


An online group meeting will be held to get you excited for the trip, make sure you have everything you need and allow you to make requests for specific business-focused sessions you want to enjoy during your stay. We will cover:

  • Group introductions and getting to know each other
  • Setting the scene about worldwide travel trends in Glamping hospitality including real-world examples of what’s working and what’s not
  • Question and answer session about the retreat and your travel plans
  • Vote on the content you would most like to receive at the retreat
  • Setting up your complimentary member's area with The Glamping Academy on your smartphone app to keep your retreat handouts and travel information in one easy-to-access place that you can keep with you on the go.

Three days before you attend the retreat


A second group session will be held to give you the chance to ask final questions and make sure you have everything you need to enjoy yourself in beautiful Abruzzo.

Daily meditation with Stefania Stokes

Quietening the mind can have a profound impact on your ability to achieve more and stress less. These regular sessions with a meditation master will help you develop a daily practice that you can continue when you get back home.

Relaxation massage with Natalia Krautsova

Over the 5-day event, every attendee will get a 60-minute massage to help reduce any lingering stress you might be feeling, increase your relaxation, improve overall circulation, energy and alertness, help lower your blood pressure and improve your immune function.

Ciavolich wine tasting and vineyard tour

This is not just a wine-tasting event, this is a complete immersion in the culture and history of the Loreto Aprutino Estate in the ancient 1853 cellar of Miglianico. These tasting events are exclusive and highlight how Loreto Aprutino has become an example of excellence around the world. You will hear the story of the vineyard and taste 4 selected labels paired with Niko Romito’s famous bread, locally grown olive oil and samples of Abruzzo cheeses.

Horse riding with Luciano Ricci Cavalli (all abilities)

A study commissioned by The British Horse Society found that horses have a natural ability to connect with and relax their rider. The act of riding regularly helps with decision-making and gives a multitude of health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure improving heart function, and core strength as well as burning calories.

The entrepreneur's stress and anxiety-busting toolkit

In this session, Sarah will share the techniques she personally uses for lowering anxiety and improving her brain health using natural tools, exercise and foods. As a stroke survivor and speaker who is invited to travel the world to share her knowledge on glamping and hospitality topics, these have proven to be incredibly valuable and comforting at those times when they are needed the most.
